
Wordle seems like a pretty fun tool to create word clouds, albeit in java format, which makes them hard to export unless you take a screen shot (like the one above) You put in some text and it creates a cloud which you can modify. I wonder just how MUCH text it might take. For example, could I place the WHOLE of the text version of Orwell’s 1984 and create a word cloud from that? That would be interesting!

I took your 1984 challenge: I cut and pasted the WHOLE e-book into Wordle and it did create a map of the most used words. You can see the result here:

Now I just need to get more texts in e-book format (1984 is free, but recent publications aren’t.
