Microsoft Education have come up a with a snazzy color wheel of competencies for educational leadership, as well as the primary responsibilities of an effective high school teacher. I’d paste some of the primary responsibilities into this post but they’re probably using Front Page and it went crazy when I tried.

Let’s just say they include: ‘creates a positive, supportive learning environment’ and ‘Is flexible and open minded with respect to learning styles’. Not much to argue with there really but I’ve done some work before in trying to define a teacher role and it’s not as easy as it might seem.
