How NOT to use blogs in education

Good post from blogsavvy on what blogs aren’t useful for in educational terms.  I like the idea about group blogs not being ideal; surely that’s what wikis are best for?

Podkids

Sharepoint

Had a bit of a play around today with Sharepoint, a Microsoft portal server that integrates lots of web content into collaboarative internet pages. The new version will support blogs, wikis, and audio files (maybe even full on podcasting) Quite impressive at first look.

Yet another entry in the wiki stakes; wetpaint seems to do without tagging completely. I’m thinking I might trial this for the forthcoming Cat’s Eye work with my class, instead of pbwiki.
